Group 01Process
How long does a typical project take?
Most marketing sites take 1–3 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on scope and how quickly feedback comes back. I'll give you a specific timeline after our discovery call.
What do you need from me to get started?
Your logo and brand assets if you have them, any existing copy, and a clear idea of what the site needs to achieve. If you don't have copy or branding yet, that can be scoped in as an add-on.
Do I need to be in NSW to work with you?
No. I'm based in New South Wales and work with clients right across Australia — everything runs over email, calls and screen shares. Being in the same timezone helps, but it isn't a requirement.
How many revisions do I get?
Design goes through a structured review before build starts, with 5 rounds of revisions included at that stage. Once the build begins, small adjustments are included; larger structural changes are scoped separately.
Do you work with an existing brand, or do I need one first?
Either works. If you already have brand guidelines, colours and a logo, I'll build around them. If not, I can recommend a lightweight starting point or refer you to a designer for a full identity.
Group 02Pricing
What's the difference between the two pricing options?
Build & Hand-Off is a one-off fee — you get the finished site, full source code, and you host and maintain it yourself from there. Build, Host & Maintain adds ongoing hosting, updates, backups and a monthly allowance of content changes for a monthly retainer on top of the build fee.
Can I switch from one plan to the other later?
Yes. Clients on Build & Hand-Off can move to the maintenance plan at any point, and clients on Build, Host & Maintain can take full ownership and move to their own hosting whenever they like — there's no lock-in.
Are there any costs beyond the quoted price?
The quote covers the scope we agree upfront. Domain registration, premium plugins or licences, and stock photography (if needed) are billed separately at cost. Anything outside the original scope is quoted before work starts, never added after the fact.
Do the prices include GST?
Every price on this site is the total you pay. I'm not currently registered for GST, so no GST is added on top. If that changes, quoted prices will show GST as a separate line and you'll get a tax invoice.
Do you offer payment plans?
Typically a deposit to begin, a milestone payment partway through, and the balance on launch. Happy to discuss a structure that works for your budget.
Group 03Technical
Who owns the code and the site once it's finished?
You do, fully — on both plans. On Build & Hand-Off you receive the complete source code and can take it to any developer or hosting provider. On Build, Host & Maintain you still own everything; I just manage the hosting until you decide otherwise.
What technology do you build with?
Next.js and TypeScript on the frontend, deployed on modern hosting infrastructure. It's fast, well-supported, and easy for any other developer to pick up later if needed — no proprietary page builders.
Can you redesign my existing site instead of building from scratch?
Yes. Redesigns follow the same process — discovery, design, build, launch — just informed by what's working and what isn't on the current site.
Will my site work well on mobile and be accessible?
Every site is built responsive-first and tested across breakpoints, with semantic markup, proper contrast and keyboard navigation as standard, not an afterthought.
Do you use AI to build the site?
Yes, as a tool in the coding process — it speeds up boilerplate and routine work so more time goes into the design, structure and content decisions that actually matter for your site. Every build is still planned, reviewed and shipped by me.
Can you add e-commerce or a booking system?
Yes, as a scoped add-on. Let me know what you need during discovery and I'll quote the integration alongside the base build.
Group 04Support
What happens if I want to leave the maintenance plan?
You can cancel any time. I'll hand off the full site and source code, help transfer hosting and the domain, and make sure nothing breaks in the process. No exit fees.
What counts as a 'content edit' on the maintenance plan?
Text changes, swapping images, updating pricing or hours, and similar small updates. Larger changes — new pages, new sections, or design changes — are scoped and quoted separately.
Who will I actually be talking to?
Me, directly. I'm a solo operator, not an agency — no account managers, no call centre, no being passed between departments. Every email, call and change request goes straight to the person doing the work.
What's your response time if something breaks?
Maintenance clients get priority support with a same-business-day response for anything urgent. Non-urgent requests are typically handled within 1–2 business days.
